Bellevue is a city in Washington state, across Lake Washington from Seattle. Downtown Park has a large lawn, gardens and a waterfall. Nearby, the Bellevue Arts Museum features craft and design exhibitions, plus a sculpture garden. The Bellevue Botanical Garden highlights Pacific Northwest plants, and includes woodlands and wetlands. KidsQuest Children&rsquo;s Museum has interactive science, tech and art exhibitions.
Bellevue lies between&nbsp;Lake Washington&nbsp;to the west and the smaller&nbsp;Lake Sammamish&nbsp;to the east. Much of Bellevue is drained by the&nbsp;Kelsey Creek&nbsp;watershed, whose source is located in the Larsen Lake and&nbsp;Phantom Lake&nbsp;green belt&nbsp;and whose outlet is near where&nbsp;Interstate 90&nbsp;meets Lake Washington's eastern shore. The city is bisected by&nbsp;Interstate 405&nbsp;running north&ndash;south, and the southern portion is crossed from west to east by Interstate 90. The&nbsp;State Route 520&nbsp;freeway roughly delineates the upper reaches of Bellevue.
According to the&nbsp;United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 36.47 square miles (94.46&nbsp;km2), of which 31.97 square miles (82.80&nbsp;km2) is land and 4.50 square miles (11.65&nbsp;km2) is water. The city's name is derived from a&nbsp;French&nbsp;term for "beautiful view". Under favorable weather conditions, scenic vistas of the&nbsp;Olympic Mountains&nbsp;and&nbsp;Cascade Mountains can be viewed from hilltops (and strategically positioned high-rise buildings) within the incorporated city. South of I-90, the city continues up&nbsp;Cougar Mountain, at the top of which is an unincorporated King County location called Hilltop. To the west of Cougar Mountain, Bellevue includes the&nbsp;Coal Creek, Somerset, and&nbsp;<a href="\" title="Factoria, Bellevue">Factoria</a>&nbsp;neighborhoods.
Bellevue is bordered by the cities of&nbsp;Kirkland&nbsp;to the north and&nbsp;Redmond&nbsp;to the northeast along the&nbsp;Overlake&nbsp;and&nbsp;Crossroads&nbsp;neighborhoods. Across the short&nbsp;East Channel Bridge, I-90 connects Bellevue to&nbsp;Mercer Island&nbsp;to the southwest.&nbsp;Issaquah&nbsp;is to the east, down I-90 at the south end of Lake Sammamish. The city is bordered to the west by many affluent suburbs such as&nbsp;Medina,&nbsp;Clyde Hill,&nbsp;Hunts Point&nbsp;and&nbsp;Yarrow Point. The south end of Bellevue is bordered by the city of&nbsp;Renton, and to the southeast, the relatively recently incorporated city of&nbsp;Newcastle.

Everett is the county seat of and the largest city in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. It is 25 miles (40 km) north of Seattle and is one of the main cities in the metropolitan area and the Puget Sound region. Everett is the seventh-largest city in the state by population, with 103,019 residents at the 2010 census. The city is primarily situated on a peninsula at the mouth of the Snohomish River along Port Gardner Bay, an inlet of Possession Sound (itself part of Puget Sound), and extends to the south and west. The Port Gardner Peninsula was historically inhabited by the Snohomish people, who had a winter village named Hibulb near the mouth of the river. Modern settlement in the area began with loggers and homesteaders arriving in the 1860s, but plans to build a city were not conceived until 1890. A consortium of East Coast investors seeking to build a major industrial city acquired land in the area and filed a plat for "Everett", which they named in honor of Everett Colby, the son of investor Charles L. Colby. The city was incorporated in 1893, shortly after the arrival of the Great Northern Railway, and prospered as a major lumber center with several large sawmills. Everett became the county seat in 1897 after a dispute with Snohomish contested over several elections and a Supreme Court case. The city was the site of labor unrest during the 1910s, which culminated in the Everett massacre in 1916 that killed several members of the Industrial Workers of the World. The area was connected by new interurban railways and highway bridges in the 1920s, transforming it into a major commercial hub, and gained an airport at Paine Field in 1936. The city's economy transitioned away from lumber and towards aerospace after World War II, with the construction of Boeing's aircraft assembly plant at Paine Field in 1967. Boeing's presence brought additional industrial and commercial development to Everett, as well as new residential neighborhoods to the south and west of the peninsula that was annexed by the city. Boeing remains the city's largest employer, alongside the U.S. Navy, which has operated Naval Station Everett since 1994. Everett remains a major employment center for Snohomish County, but has also become a bedroom community for Seattle in recent decades. It is connected to Seattle by Interstate 5 and various public transit services at Everett Station, including the Sounder commuter train, Amtrak, and commuter buses. Everett stages several annual festivals and is also home to minor league sports teams, including the Everett Silvertips at Angel of the Winds Arena.

The sixth largest city in the state, Kent is in the heart of the Seattle&ndash;Tacoma metropolitan area. Kent is connected to Seattle, Bellevue and Tacoma via State Route 167, Interstate 5, and the Sounder commuter rail network.

Kirkland is a city in King County, Washington, United States. A suburb east of Seattle, its population was 93,010 in a 2019 census estimate, which made it the sixth largest city in the county and the thirteenth largest in the state. The city's downtown waterfront has restaurants, art galleries, a performing arts center, public parks, beaches, and a collection of public art, primarily bronze sculptures. Kirkland was the original home of the Seattle Seahawks; the NFL team's headquarters and training facility were located at the Lake Washington Shipyard (now Carillon Point) along Lake Washington for their first ten seasons (1976&ndash;85), then at nearby Northwest University through 2007. Warehouse chain Costco previously had its headquarters in Kirkland. While Costco is now headquartered in Issaquah, the city is the namesake of its "Kirkland Signature" store brand.

Kitsap County is located in the U.S. state of Washington. As of the 2010 census, its population was 251,133. Its county seat is Port Orchard, and its largest city is Bremerton. The county was formed out of King County and Jefferson County on January 16, 1857, and is named for Chief Kitsap of the Suquamish Tribe. Originally named Slaughter County, it was soon renamed.

Lynnwood&nbsp;is a city in&nbsp;Snohomish County, Washington, United States. The city is part of the&nbsp;Seattle metropolitan area&nbsp;and is located 16 miles (26&nbsp;km) north of&nbsp;Seattle&nbsp;and 13 miles (21&nbsp;km) south of&nbsp;Everett, near the junction of&nbsp;Interstate 5&nbsp;and&nbsp;Interstate 405. It is the fourth-largest city in Snohomish County, with a population of 35,836 in the&nbsp;2010 U.S. census.
Lynnwood is a&nbsp;suburban&nbsp;bedroom community&nbsp;for Seattle, Everett and&nbsp;Bellevue. It has one of the largest concentrations of retailers in the region, anchored by the&nbsp;Alderwood Mall&nbsp;and businesses along major streets. The city also has a&nbsp;community college, a&nbsp;convention center, and a major&nbsp;transit center, located in the developing&nbsp;city center.
The Lynnwood area was logged and settled by&nbsp;homesteaders&nbsp;in the late 19th century and early 20th century, including the development of&nbsp;Alderwood Manor&nbsp;as a planned farming community. Lynnwood, named for the wife of a realtor, emerged in the late 1940s around the intersection of&nbsp;Highway 99&nbsp;and 196th Street Southwest. The city was&nbsp;incorporated&nbsp;on April 23, 1959, and grew into a suburban hub in the years following the completion of Interstate 5 and Interstate 405. Alderwood Mall opened in 1979 and spurred the transformation of eastern Lynnwood into a retail and office district.

Livestock and livestock products make important contributions to total farm revenue, and the commercial fishing of salmon, halibut, and bottomfish makes a significant contribution to the state's economy. Washington ranks second only to California in wine production.
